Research in Applied Probability is currently focused on modeling financial data for fraud detection and on modeling climatology data, and on studying the size of unseen species, which plays an important role in understanding biodiversity. Whereas, research in Theoretical Probability focuses on studying distribution theory of runs and patterns and crossing probabilities in diffusion processes.
