Last weekend, Nov 15-16, the 3rd Mississippi Discrete Mathematics Workshop was held at Mississippi State University. Attendees came from all over the Mid-South region for the conference, and from as far away as Dallas, TX. There was also a sizeable international contingent coming from the University of Primorska in Koper, Slovenia.

A keynote address was given by Paul Balister of the University of Memphis on "Minimal symmetric differences of lines in projective planes". Other talks were around the broad area of Discrete Mathematics and Combinatorics, with frequent connections to Topology and Algebra.

The conference was supported by the Mississippi State University Department of Mathematics & Statistics and College of Arts & Sciences, and by the ARRS research agency of Slovenia.
