Description:

I joined MSU in 2019 as an assistant professor of statistics and became a tenured associate professor of statistics in 2026.

To me, data science is a challenge-driven field. I am interested in identifying research challenges and applying cutting-edge technologies or developing new methods to solve real-world problems. I am particularly interested in healthcare-related challenges, especially in translating healthcare data into knowledge and improving the generalizability and robustness of health informatics approaches. Data science is often viewed as the intersection of statistics, computer science, and domain knowledge. Building on my formal academic training in computer science and the statistical mindset I have further strengthened as a statistics faculty member, my next goal is to dive deeper into specific disease areas and conduct research with practical impact.
