Research interests: Geometric and categorical topology; continua theory, topological dynamics, braid groups.
Over the last 20 years I have been interested in how various mathematical constructions behave under various notions of limit. Examples include the 2-dimensional Alexander Trick, braid groups, covering spaces, topological R-trees, homotopy groups of locally complicated spaces as topological groups, and appropriate categories for the study of such groups.
