The National Science Foundation has awarded the SRCOS Summer Reseach Conference funding for travel for graduate students. In addition, SRCOS is funding R. L. Anderson student paper awards to be awarded for student poster presentations. Total funding for students will allow SRCOS to support a total of nine students' travel and lodging, up to $600, to attend the Summer Research Conference. Financial aid was awarded on a competitive basis.

Students were encouraged to apply for travel grants at this time. Preference was given to students who are presenting their research in invited talks or on posters at the contributed poster session. Deadline for applications was May 1, 2002.

To apply, students sent

  1. a letter of recommendation from the student's research advisor,
  2. a copy of the paper or an extended abstract for the proposed poster or talk, and
  3. a copy of the student's CV
