Title: Unbounded derivations on noncommutative spaces
Abstract: In this talk I will describe a simple example of a noncommutative space: the quantum disk. In particular I will discuss how to construct natural derivations on the quantum disk which are like first-order elliptic operators on a manifold. I will explain several interesting and some unexpected properties of our derivations obtained in joint work with M. McBride, S. Rathnayake, and K. Sakai.
